Community Organizing
Centro
Cultural is a grassroots community organization committed to empower the low-income
migrant and settled Latino population in Western Washington County. The isolation,
the repressed grief and the lack of democratic participation of the Latino
community led Centro to look for hopeful channels to bring about justice.
This institutional concern brought Centro to engage in leadership development
across all of its programs. With Centro’s participation in the Metropolitan
Broad Base Organizing and guided by the Industrial Areas Foundation methodology
to organize the unorganized, we hope the Latino community will find a way
and have a voice at the tables where decisions are made.
OUR PURPOSE

are made about our area in Washington County.
