Information
and Referrals
Centro Cultural is
the first contact for many Latinos seeking services and information, and
the first stop for immigrants arriving in the area. Our doors open at 9:00
a.m. we close at 5:00 p.m. for general services, and as late at 9:00 pm,
depending on the classes holding session. We provide I&R services during
all these hours. Services are available from the front desk and on the telephone
Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday 1:00 pm to 5:00
pm. The front desk attendant is the person mainly responsible for Information
and Referral. People receive information on services available at Centro
and other organizations in the area. Because most people who come for services
do not speak English, or feel more comfortable in a Spanish speaking environment,
many times a referral and interpretation must follow the initial contact.
In addition, we provide assistance in filling out forms and applications
for employment, licenses, accidents, police reports, medical needs, etc.
An average of 65 people receive Information and Referral Services from Centro
Cultural every day. General information is available at the front desk/reception
at Centro.
