Centro Cultural commits to the development of the whole person in the community through the following programs:
This
program delivers basic Online Access Literacy to the Latino community leading
changes in behaviors towards technology related to education, access in the
home and use of access in the community. Adelante con Tecnología is
an outreach program designed to raise the level of awareness and the level
of proficiency of technology among Latino parents. Digital Connectors are
young people trained to promote technology in their community using the beehive
website as their online guide while developing leadership and personal skills.
This
progam offers to the Hispanic immigrant communities, online educational programs
through the Internet portal designed and maintained by the Instituto Tecnológico
y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Universidad Virtual in Monterrey,
Nuevo León, México.
This
program provides opportunities for the Latino community to express and experience
their own artistic and cultural heritage. It promotes appreciation of cultural
diversity and develops community participation in cultural activities.
Bienestar Familiar
This program pays home visits to the parent/family of children who are participating in the Web Wizards Program in order to strengthen the support between the parents and their children in their education. Parents are contacted and invited to participate in educational opportunities and workshops wich respond to the needs of participants, both the youth and their families.
Develops
skill in community members in order to build citizen participation and create
positive change in the community.
Information and Referral
This
program assits newcomers and other memebers of the community in acquirig
needed information and/or referrals to other institutuions in response to
mmediate needs.
Plaza Comunitaria
Adult Basic Education (INEA)
The
program promotes and provides an integral education opportunity for Latino
adults, at the literacy and secondary levels of education. It accredits students,
pursuant the objectives and contents of instructional programas established
by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) with the support of the Institute
of Mexicans Abroad (IME) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico (SRE).

Hispanic Education Licensing Program (H.E.L.P.)
A collaborative project between Centro Cultural, the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, provides classes of the “Rules of the road” to new drivers.
Loaves and Fishes
Loaves
and Fishes provides a nutritional and social lifeline for senior of our community
throug their Meals on Wheels and Congregate Meals programs.
