Position Title: Cemetery Program Intern

Salary: $12.00 hourly
The essential duties of the position will be clerical in nature. The cemetery team tracks all data digitally and is transitioning to a new software program. The intern's primary role will be to double check and confirm accurate data in our current system by comparing the data to paper records and possibly help check the accuracy of information once it is migrated to the new system. Other duties may include digitizing historic records, data entry, assisting with event planning and other office duties such as filing, photocopying, putting together information packets, etc. Interns will assist/observe the cemetery coordinators on their daily work as they meet with families and arrange for burial services.
We are specifically interested in finding someone who is currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate from, the Mt. Hood Community College Funeral Service Program. Our goal is to create a career pathway internship that partners with Mt. Hood and gives students or recent graduates real-life career experience in their chosen field.
The ideal candidate will need to have high attention to detail, especially when doing repetitive tasks; ability to work with sensitive materials; and be comfortable handling records that involve death. Ideally they would have an interest in pursuing this kind of work in the future.
