This year's Gala honors the legacy and contributions of former Tuality Health Care Chief Executive Officer and distinguished community leader Richard V. "Dick" Stenson, who has retired after 22 years' service.  Stenson led Tuality in the development of award-winning and innovative patient care programs including development of the Hillsboro Health & Education District. As Tuality's CEO, he shaped its focus on community health care and wellness throughout western Washington County.

His involvement in the Latino and minority communities includes creation of the Salud! service program, a partnership between Tuality Healthcare and select Oregon wineries that provides access to healthcare services for seasonal vineyard workers and their families; service as a board member of the Virginia Garcia Foundation and volunteer work on behalf of Western Farm Workers Association and Centro Cultural.

The celebration will include a silent and live auction, a paddle raise as well as dinner, Latin music, and dancing. Entertainers include the Saint Anthony children's dance group, Mexico de la Piel dance group, and the music of Dina y Los Rumberos.

Centro Cultural will join with 29 other non-profits in Washington, Clackamas, Clark and Multnomah Counties in a collaborative 3-year “Community Strengthening” effort. All the participating non-profits serve low income and culturally specific communities across the metropolitan area.

Each non-profit will be awarded up to $50,000 per year to complete the critical work of improving outcomes for low-income families and their children.

Christmas Holiday

Here at Centro Cultural those words and the sentiment behind the
meaning is what matters most. Generosity can be challenging, especially
for many families during these difficult economic times. When we have little
for ourselves, we find it hard to justify giving to others, but giving doesn't
necessarily require donating money to those less privileged than
ourselves. [Read More...]
