Position Title: House/Event Manager, part-time - Portland’5 Centers for the Arts

Salary: $22.26 – $31.17 hourly

The Portland'5 Centers for the Arts is pleased to be accepting applications for a House Manager position. This position provides a great opportunity to work with and manage staff in a theater setting to provide customer service for a variety of events. This person will lead large teams sometimes as large as 75 staff members to support audiences that occasionally eclipse 1,000 patrons.
The House Manager at the Portland'5 Centers for the Arts manages, coordinates and oversees all aspects of services provided to clients and patrons during assigned events. This position acts as a facility liaison to clients and staff to provide direction, information and assistance during events including music and comedy concerts, Broadway, plays, dance, lectures, seminars, receptions, meetings and other events and performances. In this context, the House Manager ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, programs and services, directs the workforce and makes on-the-spot management decisions. Additionally, this position provides lead direction, guidance and coaching to members of the work group. The person in this position must be available to work various event hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
This position reports to and works under of the direction of the Assistant Director of Event Services at Portland'5 Centers for the Arts.
Portland'5 Centers for the Arts (formerly the Portland Center for the Performing Arts) is a leader in expert venue management, overseeing the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Keller Auditorium and Antoinette Hatfield Hall, which includes the Brunish Theatre, the Newmark Theatre and the Dolores Winningstad Theatre.

Associate's Degree in public relations, business administration, performing arts or related field, and a minimum of two years responsible supervisory and customer service experience in event management for a comparable public assembly facility, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance in the essential job duties. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
