Tenant Education Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Alliance of Tenants (CAT) is seeking a compassionate, self-directed team member ready to become an agent of change! As a social justice organization dedicated to dismantling systems of oppression as it relates to housing justice, the ideal candidate is an advocate at heart who has the desire and empathetic capacity to support tenants in crisis. The education specialist will be responsible for supporting renters with questions about the newest laws passed in February, SB 608. This position requires a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence. This is a full-time temporary position (40hrs/week). Hourly wage range is $15-$17 (DOE), and includes paid holidays. This position reports to the Tenant Education and Support Director, and will have an opportunity to coordinate their work with other staff as part of CAT's education, organizing, and advocacy approach to building tenant power. This position is available through January 2020, with the opportunity for continuation pending funding.
