Salary: $17.87 hourly
This is a temporary position. Although temporary positions are limited to a maximum of 1040 hours per 12 month period, they are not temporary in duration. This position is expected to work for the 2018 Spring/Summer seasons.

The Catering Captain works under supervision of the Restaurant and Catering Managers. This position is responsible for overseeing the work of food service employees. As a Catering Captain, you will assist in training, daily event operations, preparation of event and restaurant paperwork, and regular communication with guests and event planners. A Catering Captain interacts with the public, ensures compliance with Zoo regulations and performs related duties as assigned. This position will be expected to work varied hours including nights and weekends in a variety of locations within the department.

High school diploma or GED and two years' experience in preparing and/or serving specialty food items; or any combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Multnomah County Food Handler's Card. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid OLCC permit. Requires the ability to work varying work hours due to event schedule, including frequent early and late events.
Preference will be given to applicants with at least one year demonstrated experience in supervising and training seasonal food service or catering employees.
