Position Title: Council Office Engagement Committee Intern

Salary: $13.00 hourly
This position is available beginning in June; 20 - 30 hours per week, some evenings and possible need for additional hours (flexible); duration: one year of service from hire date.
The Council Office Intern provides operational and administrative support to Metro's Council Office staff with the goal of facilitating successful public policy outcomes and supporting our regionally elected Council. This internship is designed to provide interested people the opportunity to experience a fast-paced and dynamic political environment while learning office processes, and providing operational support while conducting constituent and customer services.
The Metro Council internship program encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds in order to foster a community of diversity, unique life experiences and points of view.
The Council Office Internship is designed specifically for people who are either current students or recent graduates from a two- or four-year college and/or possess either professional experience or academic interest in public administration or management, operations, business, political science, communications, community outreach, land-use or transportation planning, sustainable development, economic development and/or regional equity.
This internship is structured to be a learning experience, so preference is given to those seeking their first entry level job in an office environment and/or the field of government.
