Salary: $13.91 hourly
This is a temporary position. Temporary positions are limited to a maximum of 1040 hours per 12 month period. This position is expected to work for the 2018 Spring/Summer seasons.

The Lead Cook primarily assists the management team with the daily operation of locations, events and service in a lead role over a team of kitchen staff. The Lead Cook sets the example by modeling a good work ethic and following Oregon Zoo and Metro policies, procedures and values. Lead duties include assisting with scheduling, assigning and overseeing work. In collaboration with the supervisor, addresses quality issues, coordinates operations with other departments and responds to problems. The Lead Cook will be placed depending on skills, experience and staffing needs. This position requires a "can-do" attitude and exceptional customer service skills.

We are a seven day a week operation. Schedules may be flexible, so staff must be able to work multiple shifts including, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. These positions require experience preparing and/or serving quick food specialty items.
• Lead Cooks must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience preparing and/or serving quick food specialty items (at least one year of experience preferred),
• Experience leading and directing employees or similar higher-level, increasing responsibilities on the job (at least 6 months of experience preferred)
• Must have ability to obtain a Multnomah County food handler's permit at the time of employment (upon hire)
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
Experience in a leadership position; work in a commercial/restaurant kitchen and/or culinary school training preferred.
