The Shelter Aide vacancy is within our Harkins House Basic Residential Facility. The Shelter Aide assists in the oversight of routine activities of youth residents and monitors the safety and security of the juvenile facility.
Harkins House is a basic residential facility designed to provide residential care services based on an individual’s needs. Harkins House serves youth 12–17 years, of age while providing individual and group skills training, recreational activities, counseling, and the opportunity to participate in a culinary arts program. Youth in the program are pending alleged violations of the law or are on probation.
Education and Experience
-Possession of a high school diploma; AND
-One of the following:
*Completion of two (2) years of college level education/training; OR
*Two (2) years of work experience with juveniles or adults in a residential or correctional setting, school setting, or the mentoring/coaching of youth.
