The Building Bridges Leader
We are looking for someone to help the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THRPD) make meaningful connections in Beaverton area neighborhoods. THPRD's Building Bridges program is designed to promote healthy activities in community by reaching out to communities of color and other diverse backgrounds in our service area. This position is an opportunity to share the benefits of recreation and make a positive impact in Beaverton. Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience in positive youth development, intercultural communication, and working cross-culturally with diverse communities.
The Building Bridges Leader is responsible for development and implementation of culturally responsive curriculum for the district's free mobile recreational program. This position will staff special events hosted by THPRD as well the district's community partners. This position is also responsible for community outreach to targeted audiences, typically communities of color in people from other diverse backgrounds.
THPRD values bilingual and bicultural applicants. Specifically, bilingual skills, in English and Spanish and/or Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Somali, Korean, or Russian are required for this position.
Shifts for this position vary based on program offerings. Shifts may be during the day, evening, or weekend and will not exceed 29 hours per week.
