Salary: $17.01 - $21.52 hourly
This is an internal and a First Opportunity recruitment opportunity. Two full-time positions are available.
The Oregon Convention Center is seeking enthusiastic applicants to join our team. We're looking for employees who enjoy working in a fast paced and friendly environment with great opportunities for advancement within Metro. The Convention Center hosts people and events from around the world at a world-class venue. This position is responsible for tasks that are essential to providing a memorable experience for both shows and guests. Utility Workers are responsible for cleaning and event set-up. Specific duties may vary from shift to shift.
The Oregon Convention Center (OCC), a LEED Platinum facility, is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, hosting more than 12 million visitors since its opening in 1990. Annually hosting roughly 500 events with an average of $450 million in economic benefit for the region from the national and international visitors who attend conventions and events at the facility. High school diploma or GED and two to three year in a similar utility position; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the candidate with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. A valid driver's license is required. Possession of or the ability to obtain a forklift operator and CPR certificate. Must be able to work a variety of shifts to meet the needs of the business.
Experience in a public assembly facility is preferred.
